Project Hope Volunteer Spotlight

Alexa Fuentes

Alexa Fuentes began her volunteer service with Project HOPE Friendly Visitors Program in 2017.  Alexa moved to Modesto from a small town of Muleshoe West Texas.  Currently she is enrolled at Modesto Junior College finishing her prerequisites for the nursing program.

Ever since Alexa was younger she would visit her grandmother along with other older adults and bring goodie bags for them.  She had a desire to work with older adults.  Currently Alexa has three clients that she calls on a regular basis.  Due to COVID-19 restriction her visits are suspended but looks forward to visits with her clients.

Alexa has a passion in working and supporting older adults in different activities to let them know that they are an important part of the community and that they are not forgotten.  Alexa continues to work with older adults and once she finishes with the nursing program she will pursue a career in the medical field so that she can assist in the care of older adults.

Join Alexa and be a caring, listening ear to a lonely, older adult.
