Stanislaus County

Our Interfaith Hospitality Network, a partnership of local congregations, offers an opportunity for volunteers of all faiths to reduce homelessness and transform lives.

Our goal is two-fold for our guest families:
Provide temporary relief from the expense and worry over meeting their immediate needs for shelter, meals and human compassion through our network of
congregations and their committed volunteers.

Locally in Modesto, our Family Promise has been operating since 2005. It took a determined and dedicated group of 12 compassionate individuals to get the ball rolling in 2002. Three years later, with 8 host congregations, day center space, a brand new van, 16 roll away beds, and a professionally skilled staff, we opened our doors to welcome our first group of families. Since 2005, Modesto Family Promise has helped more than 200 families in the Central Valley regain their independence and overcome homelessness, and over 80% of the families served have remained in permanent housing.

Family Promise Executive Director

Tamra Losinski

Tamra Losinski joined Family Promise in 2014. She brings over 20 years of experience with oversight and coordination of nonprofit and government housing programs. Her work on both faith-based and homeless services boards helped prepare her to lead our team of volunteers and staff. Tamra is responsible for the operations of the Day Center and staff and closely works with the congregational volunteers in our Interfaith Hospitality Network. She is committed to developing partnerships to strengthen families by providing care and resources for those facing a housing crisis.
